Complex aromas of toasted coconut, pear, mango and lemon grass and a hint of smoke and honey carry through to a rich palate and an extraordinarily long finish of lemon cream pie. This full-bodied Chardonnay has a crisp undertone that holds the wine hovering on your palate.
Our 2008 Chardonnay comes from one of the best know growing regions for Chardonnay in the Napa Valley. The Carneros vineyards enjoy the clay loam soil and the cooling effects from the San Pablo Bay. The hotter inland valleys draw the fog from the bay over the land as the day progresses protecting the grapes from the hot summer sun and allowing them to ripen slowly. This gives the Chardonnay from this region complex aromas and bright flavors. The 2008 Chardonnay was 100% barrel fermented and went through partial malolactic fermentation in the barrel.
This wine has enough body to pair with Asian ginger pork chops, and would also pair nicely with grilled teriyaki chicken, halibut with a creamy garlic sauce or seafood linguini with a white wine sauce.
